"Delete Cert xxx" message is seen in the system log

Symptom


System log (show log system) displays "Delete Cert" followed by "Created new cert" messasages 
2023/01/02 04:02:05 Delete Cert 'xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx'
2023/01/02 04:02:05 Created new cert 'xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx'

 

Environment


  • Palo Alto Firewall or Panorama
  • PAN-OS 10.1 and above.
  • Device Certificate

Cause


This message is seen during the renewal of Device certificate.
 

Resolution


  1. The Lifetime of the device certificate is 90 days.
  2. This message is seen when PAN-OS renews the Device Certificate by deleting the old certificate.
  3. This is a normal process and the messages can be ignored.
