How to Manage PA-Series Enterprise Agreements

Customers purchase Enterprise Agreements to easily assign subscriptions and support programs in bulk to assets purchased from Palo Alto Networks.
 

An Enterprise Agreement:ELA is a hardware licensing agreement that assigns five CDSSs – Advanced Threat Protection, DNS Security, PAN-DB URL Filtering, WildFire, and GlobalProtect – to PA-Series NGFWs.
 

Likewise, an Enterprise Agreement:ESA is a hardware licensing agreement used to assign support programs to PA-Series NGFWs.

Display PA-Series Enterprise Agreements

To display Enterprise Agreements (EA), click Assets > Enterprise Agreements menu.
 

CSP displays Enterprise Agreements page, which displays Enterprise Agreements (EA) for various types of products.

Enterprise License Agreements (ELA)

An Enterprise License Agreement (ELA) is an EA used to assign subscriptions, such as CDSSs, to assets.

• For example, when an EA is denoted with Enterprise Agreement: ELA as shown in (1) below, the ELA assigns subscriptions to PA-Series NGFWs.
• When an ELA is denoted with Enterprise Agreement: VM-Series, the ELA assigns subscriptions to VM-Series NGFWs.
• Likewise, when an ELA is denoted with Enterprise Agreement: Traps-ELA, the ELA assigns subscriptions to Traps assets.

Enterprise Support Agreements (ESA)

An Enterprise Support Agreement (ESA) is an EA used to assign support programs to assets.

NOTE:  This KB article describes EAs for PA-Series NGFWs only.

In the illustration above, in tab Licenses,

• (1) indicates an ELA applies to PA-Series NGFWs.
• (2) indicates an ELA applies to multiple CSP accounts.  In the example above, assume one of the companies is named “ACME Corp”; the ELA is shared with ACME and five additional companies (their CSP account names are masked).
• (3) indicates an ELA applies the five displayed subscriptions to PA-Series NGFWs, with expiration dates.  Column Licenses (Used/Total) indicates the number of PA-Series NGFWs that have been activated with these five subscriptions.
• (4), (5), and (6) for ESAs are similar to (1), (2), and (3) for ELAs.

Display PA-Series Consumption Dashboard

Consumption dashboard display detailed information about EAs for PA-Series NGFWs.  To display a consumption dashboard for an ELA or ESA, click Consumption tab in Enterprise Agreements page.

• (1) indicates this page displays information for a specific ELA or ESA.  The ELA or ESA is identified by its Auth Code.  To select a different ELA/ESA, click drop-down selector in (1) to select another ELA/ESA.
• (2) displays detailed information on the selected ELA/ESA.

Contract Type = ELA or ESA

Auth Code = Authorization Code for the ELA or ESA

Projected Hardware ($) = Projected purchases by customer of PA-Series NGFWs

Usage Cap ($) = Maximum monetary amount that can be applied to PA-Series NGFWs

Hardware Consumption ($) = Monetary amount already applied to ELA or ESA

Hardware Consumption (Assets) = Number of PA-Series NGFWs using ELA or ESA

Hardware Consumption (%) = Percentage used of maximum monetary amount

Contract Start Date = Start date of ELA or ESA

Contract End Date = End date of ELA or ESA
 

• (3) displays a list of CSP accounts that share the ELA or ESA.
• (4) displays projected hardware and actual hardware assigned to an ELA or ESA for the previous six months.
• (5) enables you to create a CSV file with NGFWs associated with an ELA or ESA.

Note:  Consumption Dashboards currently display information only for PA-Series ELAs and ESAs.  Consumption Dashboards do not currently support other types of products.
