How to transfer already allocated Software NGFW credits from one CSP account to another

Objective


To transfer already allocated Software NGFW credits between CSP accounts.

Environment


Software NGFW credits and VM`s

Procedure


 

1. Deactivate already provisioned VM`s in the source account
2. Delete deployment profile(s) in the source account
3. Transfer the credits to the destination account
4. Rebuild the VM`s in the destination account
 

In order to retrieve the new licenses, the VMs needs to be rebooted and you will experience down time. This down time will impact your traffic and it is expected to last 10-20 minutes depending on how long the process of deactivating the VM`s, transferring the credits and rebuilding the VM`s take.
 

Additional Information


User requirements:

1. User must have Credit Admin role
Support Portal User Role Matrix
2. The user must be a member of both source and the destination accounts

Note: if the destination account does not have any credit pools of the chosen type, the CSP will prompt you to create a new credit pool. The new credit pool will get a different ID.
