Question

What is required before requesting Security Assurance assistance?

Answer

The first step to Security Assurance assistance is to take a Best Practice Assessment (BPA) and successfully meet the minimum security thresholds for your industry (see "How to Run a Best Practice Assessment" for reference).  Next, you must collect all of the correct data elements (see "Data Collection Guidance for Security Assurance" for more information).  Both of these requirements must be done before opening a case with Support.

The seven key security adoption areas in the Best Practice Assessment include:
  1. Anti-spyware
  2. Anti-virus
  3. DNS Sinkhole
  4. URL Filtering Adoption
  5. Vulnerability Procedure
  6. Wildfire Adoption
  7. Logging
BPA thresholds must be met to gain full value of Security Assurance.  A BPA should be run against the most-recent tech support file (TSF) and that file should be uploaded at the time of case creation when engaging Support for Security Assurance.

Security Assurance assistance is provided to customers with Platinum support and Premium customers that renew on or after November 1, 2019.
