Symptom
- Alert from AIOps regarding HW Failure Thermal Issues
Environment
- PAN-OS
- AIOps
Cause
A hardware failure thermal issue was detected.
Resolution
Check the following environmental factors
- Ensure adequate ventilation in the room and that the room is around 20 degrees Celcius.
- If the ambient temperature is fine, check that there is enough space between devices and that the fan is not obstructed.
- (Applicable only for PA-5200's and PA-7000's ) Change the air intake filters, if they haven't been changed in over 6 months.
If the problem persists then
- For the PA-220, PA-400 or PA-800 platforms, submit an RMA for the entire unit.
- For PA-3200, PA-5200, PA-5400, and PA-7000, use CLI, show system environmentals to check if the fan and fan tray are functioning correctly.
- HOW TO DETECT A BAD FAN OR FAN TRAY FAILURE
- If the problem is with the fan or the fan tray, submit an RMA for the fan tray . If the fan is functioning correctly, submit an RMA for the entire unit.
