Is SMTPS(SMTP over TLS/SMTP secure) supported for Email Notification?

Environment


  • Palo Alto Firewalls
  • PAN-OS: 10.1, 10.2, 11.0
  • SMTP

Answer


  1. SMTP over TLS is supported when the server supports STARTTLS ( 587 for STARTTLS).
  2. If the servers are using port 465 for SMTP over TLS, then it is not supported.
