Objective
How to fetch Cortex Data Lake (CDL) license for PA-VM for release 10.1 or later
Environment
- VM-Series Virtual Firewall (PA-VM)
- PAN-OS 10.1 or later
- Cortex Data Lake (CDL)
Procedure
- Make sure that your firewall has valid device-certificate
> show device-certificate status
If it shows as "not valid" check device-certificate - After retrieving the latest license on the firewall check if your firewall was able to fetch the logging-service license:
> request license info ... License entry: Feature: Logging Service Description: Device Logging Service
- You are expected to see the below output for the following CLI:
> request logging-service-forwarding status Logging Service Licensed: No
- Manually import the logging service license key in the CLI using:
> request license install Please enter (copy and paste) your license key in one or more lines. Please <enter> twice to finish.
Where you use the license key which you would retrieve manually from the customer portal (CSP) under Assets > Devices. - You are then expected to see the below output for the following CLI:
> request logging-service-forwarding status Logging Service Licensed: Yes
