Objective

Identify the difference between VM ELA Bounded and Unbounded period.

Environment

Adminsite
Customer Support Portal

Procedure

In the Bounded period, there is a limit on the consumption of licenses.  A 150% growth cap is set for the first 1.5 year of 3-year term and first 3 years of the 5-year term.
In the unbounded period there is no limit on the consumption of licenses.

The bounded or unbounded status of the ELA is displayed in Customer Support Portal under Assets > Enterprise Agreements.

The ELA-Administrator can allocate tokens to VM models in the Manage VM-Series Tokens popup window.
If the Quantity cannot be changed, it means that you reached the maximum number of tokens to allocate. It can happen in the Bounded period. In the Unbounded period, the Quantity can be changed without limitation.
