PAYG VM cannot be migrated to VM-Flex licensing

Objective
The objective of the article is to explain why a PAYG license cannot be switched with a BYOL license, thus a PAYG VM (AWS/Azure/GCP) cannot be migrated to VM-Flex, Software NGFW Credits.
Procedure
PAYG and BYOL are two different products and can’t be combined.
A PAYG VM running on Azure/AWS/GCP cannot be migrated to a VM-Flex, or any other BYOL model.
1. Provision another VM with your BYOL auth code , or register a new firewall with Software NGFW Credits .
2. Export the configuration from the PAYG instance .
3. Terminate the PAYG instance if you no longer need it.
Additional Information
It is not possible to associate a UUID/CPUID created through PAYG with a BYOL auth code.
