Commit Failed when adding DHCP Relay "Can't get vr id(Module: dhcpd)"

Symptom
When adding a new DHCP relay and using commit operation, it may fail with the error message "Can't get vr id(Module: dhcpd)"
- "show jobs id <number> command displays commit failure.

Commit failed
- GUI operation indicating the same failure.
- MS Log indicating the same failure.
mp ms.log client dhcpd reported error: Can't get vr id(Module: dhcpd)
mp ms.log client dhcpd reported Phase 1 FAILED
mp ms.log client dhcpd reported error: config commit phase 1 aborted(Module: dhcpd)
Environment
- PAN-OS 7.1 and above.
- Palo Alto Firewall.
Cause
The interface configured in the DHCP relay did not have an assigned Virtual Router.
Resolution
- Note down the interface displayed in the commit failure. In the above Example it is interface ethernet 1/7.
- Go to GUI: Network > Interfaces> ethernet > choose the interface mention on DHCP relay and assign the associated Virtual Router to the interface by selecting the drop-down selection under Virtual Router.
- Commit the changes.
