Symptom


While doing a commit the following error message is seen:

Details: 
vsys1
Error: Missing service value
Error: Failed to parse security policy
(Module: device)
Commit failed



Cause


Commit job results in an error due to a missing service value for the security policies.
This issue can typically occur if the service port is removed from the CLI or an imported device configuration uploaded.


Resolution


Steps:
  1.  Verify the security policies - Policies > Security 
Example below shows a missing Service port definition in the security policy "Test Security Policy" (highlighted below).

  1.  Click on the security policy and add the missing Service port.

  1.  Perform a Commit. (Note: Commit job should now complete successfully)

Please refer to the PAN-OS Administrator's Guide,  section "Security Policy".
Make sure all components of a security policy rule have been met.
