Symptom

The default maximum rows in CSV export is 65536. If an increase is needed for the maximum export limit follow the instructions below.

Environment
  • PAN-OS 9.0 and above
  • Log Export via CVS
Cause
Resolution
Warning: Increasing the export to the maximum amount, 1048576, may cause management of the device to slow when exporting but will not affect the traffic traversing the firewall.

From the GUI:
  1. Navigate to Device > SetupManagement
  2. Click the Edit/Gear icon for the Logging and Reporting Setting box and navigate to Log Export and Reporting tab.
  3. The second option down is Max Rows in CSV Export
    1. PAN-OS 9.0latest PAN-OS 9.0
  4. Set the value to the desired number (1 - 1048576).
  5. Commit change


From CLI:

  1. Go to configuration mode by entering configure in the CLI
  2. # set deviceconfig setting management max-rows-in-csv-export <value>
  3. # commit
