How Sales Transactions Update Your Entitlements
Environment
The Customer Support Portal is designed to provide real-time visibility into your entitlement lifecycle. As soon as a sales transaction's order is fulfilled, the corresponding updates are automatically reflected in the portal. This automation directly addresses the previous challenges of manual CSP selection, which required significant effort to correct if an entitlement was assigned to the wrong account.
Net New Purchases
For any new SaaS purchase, the process is fully automated to accelerate your time-to-value.
-
Automated Deposit: Entitlements are automatically deposited into your organization's designated primary CSP account immediately after the order is fulfilled.
-
No Manual Selection Required: You are no longer required to manually select a CSP account for your entitlement to appear. This removes a critical point of friction and potential error from the onboarding process.
-
Initial Status: The new entitlement group will initially appear with a status of pre-setup underway. This indicates that the order has been fulfilled by our systems but is in a provisioning state before it is ready for you to activate.
-
Activation Readiness: Once ready for activation, the status changes to check activation status. This is a dynamic link. Clicking it before activation directs you to the activation console to begin the process. After activation, it allows you to check the real-time status and view allocation details.
-
Post-Activation Visibility: After activation is complete, you can click this same link to view real-time allocation information, showing precisely which TSGs are consuming the entitlement units.
Amendments
When an existing entitlement is amended—for instance, to increase the quantity of licenses—the changes are reflected immediately within the CSP.
-
Upon order fulfillment for the amendment, the updates are applied directly to the same entitlement group.
-
The new details of the amendment will be visible, and the original Entitlement ID will be replaced with a new one reflecting the updated terms of the service, while remaining within the same Entitlement Group ID for historical continuity.
Renewals
The renewal process is also automated to ensure seamless service continuity.
-
Once a renewal order is fulfilled, the entitlements within the corresponding entitlement group will be updated automatically with the new data, including the new start and end dates for the renewed term.
Visual Status Indicators for Entitlements
The CSP provides clear visual cues for transactions, including those scheduled to begin at a future date. If you complete a transaction for an amendment or renewal scheduled to begin at a future date, the updated entitlement will appear right away in your entitlement view.
A simple color-coded icon system next to the expiration date helps you quickly assess the status of any entitlement:
-
Blue Icon: Indicates a future-dated entitlement that is not yet active.
-
Green Icon: Indicates a current entitlement.
-
Orange Icon: Serves as a warning that an entitlement is expiring within 60 days.
This system ensures you can track not only your current assets but also your planned future commitments in a single, unified interface.
Download of entitlements
You have an option to download the entitlements accessible to you in an Excel format (note that this is changed from .csv format). Click on ‘Account Actions’ -> ‘Download Excel’ to save the file locally.
The Sales Order ID
For effective governance and reconciliation, maintaining an auditable link between a digital asset and its originating purchase order is non-negotiable. The updated CSP now surfaces this connection directly within the interface.
The Sales Order ID associated with your purchase is now visible directly within the entitlement details view on the CSP Assets page.
The function of this feature is to provide a direct and unambiguous reference point. It allows your team to easily trace any entitlement listed in the portal back to the specific sales transaction document—whether a Net New purchase, an Amendment, or a Renewal—that created or modified it. This eliminates guesswork and simplifies reconciliation between your procurement records and your active services.
