How to find the serial number on a Firewall or Panorama

Objective


To identify the serial number of the firewall and panorama using GUI and CLI.



Environment


  • VM and Hardware Firewalls
  • VM and Hardware Panorama
  • Wildfire appliance (only the CLI option, see Note)
  • Supported PAN OS


Procedure


  1. Login to the Panorama or Firewall.
  2. By default the first page displayed is "Dashboard".
  3. The "General Information" Section under "Dashboard" includes the the serial number.

 

Using CLI:

 

  1. Login to the Firewall/Panorama using SSH/Console.
  2. Run the command "show system info".
  3. The output of the command will have the serial number information.

Note: Wildfire does not support GUI, so use the CLI option to display the serial number.



Additional Information


The serial number is also displayed when using the SLS (Strata Logging Service) in the dashboard section.
