Symptom

  • There is an existing Remote network (RN )deployed with location as New Zealand but the compute region is Australia southeast (Deployed before June 2026)
  •  Now when the Prisma Access admin attempts to modify the configuration of existing RN, the UI throws an error "Please allocate bandwidth for New Zealand to use New Zealand" on SCM and does not the admin to save the changes.
  • Error screenshot.

  • Please allocate bandwidth error
  • There is no bandwidth allocated to New Zealand (NZ) location since this did not existing prior to June 2026. The location was previously mapped to Australia southeast and the bandwidth has been allocated there.
  • From June 2026, the New Zealand location has been remapped to it's own compute.
  • The error is unexpected as the administrator is not deploying a new site but changing an existing location which is not mapped to new New Zealand compute.

Environment

  • Prisma Access
  • Strata Cloud manager

Cause

  • This a Strata Cloud Manager (SCM ) UI (User interface) validation issue.
  • The UI validation logic checks bandwidth allocation based on the location's current compute mapping (New-Zealand) instead of the Remote Network's actual SPN compute region (Australia-Southeast). Existing RNs using AU Southeast SPNs fail validation because no bandwidth is allocated to the new NZ compute, even though bandwidth exists in AU Southeast where their SPNs (Security processing node) actually reside.

Resolution

  1. Palo Alto Engineering team is aware of the issue and is working towards a fix.
  2. The fix will be delivered by SCM backend upgrade in future with version  2026.r3.1
(No ETA is available as of now)
  3. To unlock administrators from making changes, Please allocate nominal bandwidth to new New Zealand compute location. (Workaround
  4. Once bandwidth is allocated to the new compute location, the validation will pass and changes can be made on the existing deployment.
