Symptom

  • Branch site is a ion 7000 and we need to RMA this ion with ION 5200.
  • ION 7000 has by pass port pairs and this needs to be mapped to the new rma ion as soon as this mapping is done the RMA wizard errors out telling DUPLICATE_ELEMENT_INTERFACE_ENTRY
  • There are no interfaces configured with the same ip address .

Environment

  • Prism sd-wan
  • ION 7000
  • ION 5200
  • Bypass-ports
  • RMA wizard

Cause

  • For RMA2.0 - UI attempts to create a map to keep track of the source interface id and target interface id.
  • UI uses names to create this mapping between source and target - as other attributes will differ. So, this is the foundational assumption here.
  • However, as observed in this case - the foundational assumption was incorrect. bypass pair name can be 12 - created by port1 and port2 This ends up clashing with with port12 that exists on target And due to this clash, UI ends up having 2 values with same id .

Resolution

  1. Bug CGSDW-37021 will be fixed as an enhancement in controller patch 6.6.2
  2. A work around till the controller patch is applied will be to remove by-pass ports finish the rma wizard to copy other config to the ion 5200 and then re-configure bypass ports .
