Manage User Console and User Change Log

Introduction

To enhance user account management and provide greater visibility into user profile changes, we have implemented the Manage User Console and User Change Log features within the Customer Support Portal (CSP). These features provide administrators with powerful tools to monitor and control user access and data within their CSP accounts.

Manage User Console - Overview

The Manage User Console under Manage Users section acts as a 'Dashboard' offering Quick View Filters that display the number of users based on specific criteria. This dashboard includes additional tiles to show 'Users Expiring within 30 Days' and 'Users who have Not Logged in within 60 Days'.

Access/Permissions: This console is viewable by all users of the account.

Functionality/Structure:

• There are three clickable tiles at the top of the dashboard for a quick view of users:

  • Total Users: Shows all users in the account.

  • User Expiration(30 Days): Shows the number of users with an expiration within 30 days.

  • Not Logged In 60 Days: Shows the number of users who have not logged in within 60 days or more.

• Clicking on a tile will filter the table below to display data specific to the selected tile.

• The appearance of the selected tile will change to indicate it is the 'Primary' view.

• Users can click on any other tile to change the view.

• The Filter/Search feature can be used to further refine the view.

User Change Log - Overview

A 'User Change Log' under Manage Users section of the CSP provides a record of changes made to user profiles on the account being viewed.

• Access/Permissions: The logs are viewable only by Super Users of the account. Those with viewing access can also download the data for analysis. 

Functionality/Structure:

• To ensure accurate data capture and display, changes are broken into three sub-tabs:

  • Role Changes

  • Activation Date Changes

  • Expiration Date Changes

• Changes made by Palo Alto Networks Employee (with a “@paloaltonetworks.com” email address) the ‘user’ displayed in the “Changed by” column will be PAN ADMIN

• Data will be captured only after this feature is deployed to production starting July 18, 2025.

• Data can be downloaded from each of the views.
