Symptom
Unable to add devices in the HUB->Common Services->Device Association. NGFWs remained in Grey. Hovering over the NGFWs showed error “You do not have enough license to add these devices to tenant. Please purchase additional Strata Logging Service licenses”
Environment
HUB 2.0, SLS and Strata Cloud Manager
Cause
The SLS MGU(Device Management) credits that’s part of the SLS license perhaps consumed by other devices during activation and add-on in the HUB. When customers tried to add additional NGFWs and due to insufficient MGU credits, they see NGFWs in grey and showing this error “You do not have enough license to add these devices to tenant. Please purchase additional Strata Logging Service licenses”
Resolution
When customers purchase Strata Logging Service license for NGFWs, the recent license scheme allows customers to purchase “Device Management Units” or Management Units (MGU credits). These credits are consumed (1) during license activation (2) add NGFWs to SLS/SCM in the HUB. When customers try to add more NGFWs to the HUB->Common Services->Device Association, NGFWs remained in grey due to lack of MGU credits
The best practice to remediate this issue is for customers to consult Palo Alto Accounts team to get or purchase additional MGU credits.
