Symptom
The GP tunnel establishment is slow.
Environment
- Global Protect version lower than 6.2.8-h2
- Windows365 CloudPC
Cause
Windows 365 Cloud PC operates as a Hyper-V-based VM. Unlike a bare-metal hypervisor VM, it lacks a full hardware emulation layer. GlobalProtect (GP) is currently designed to wait up to one minute for the underlying physical device to become ready after a power event before enabling its virtual adapter. Consequently, GP ends up waiting for a physical NIC to come back online, which never happens because the physical NIC isn't emulated in this environment.
Resolution
Upgrade to GP version 6.2.8-h2.
