Objective
To guide on how to troubleshoot and isolate Prisma Browser Performance-related issues.
Environment
Prisma Browser
Procedure
The best way to troubleshoot it is by setting a "Clean" browser security policy. To configure a clean policy, the admin will need to do the following:
- Open the Rules tab (under Policy)
- Add rule → Browser Security
- Give a name → set to active → Scope → Choose the user/s with the issue in the scope.
- Browser security controls: Make sure to disable or allow controls
- Note: Some controls, like Trusted Certificate Authorities, Extensions, Internet Explorer Compatibility Mode, and others, should be set without a value
- Save the policy → make sure the end user closes the browser and tries again.
Log Level Settings:
- Verify if the log level is set to "Enhanced" for the affected URLs.
- If so, change the log level to "On" for all rules (not only the impacted rule/s) and test again.
- The "Enhanced" log level records the screen, which may impact performance.
User & System Details:
- Identify the impacted users.
- Collect browser version and OS/Windows version details.
- Ensure they are running the latest version, as outdated versions may cause issues.
- Check if Keylogger Protection is set to "Enabled" under Browser Security Rules. Disable it and test.
Traffic routed through Prisma Access:
- Confirm if traffic decryption is enabled, as it may contribute to performance issues.
Additional Troubleshooting:
- Test and record the performance of the same website on Chrome or Edge for comparison.
