GlobalProtect running version 6.1.6-730 or lower with Always on VPN fails to automatically reconnect after disconnection on Android phone (Google Pixel)

Symptom GlobalProtect client fails to automatically reconnect to the VPN after a loss of network connectivity (switching from WiFi to cellular or WiFi outage. Android OS displays a system notification stating 'Disconnected from Always-On VPN' Opening the GlobalProtect app (via system notification or app drawer) triggers a reconnection attempt Logs on the GP support file don’t show any reconnection attempts until the user reopens the app: The network is stable through WIFI. The tunnel is up and running:

WIFI is back, but the change in the network is not recognized. The only way to force the GP client to recognize the change is reopening the APP:

Environment GlobalProtect App: 6.1.6-730 and down. Android: Google Android 15 and down.
Cause Software Issue
Resolution The issue has been fixed in the 6.1.9 version of GlobalProtect App. Upgrading to GlobalProtect Android client to version 6.1.9, will resolve the reconnection issue.
