Prisma Cloud Compute: How to resolve "failed to initialize CRI client: runtime version can not be determined" error on host defender linux

Objective


The objective of this article is to successfully deploy host defender linux.

Environment


  • Prisma Cloud Runtime Security
  • Prisma Cloud Compute
  • Redhat Enteprise Linux 9.4

Procedure


  1. Uninstall the host defender from linux host using the following command:  
    sudo /var/lib/twistlock/scripts/twistlock.sh -u defender-server
  2. Deleted twistlock in directory under var/lib/.
  3. Re-deploy the host defender.
  4. Check Prisma Cloud Compute/Runtime Security console, and the host defender should be showing in the list under Manage > Defenders.
