Symptom


Unable to delete unused Service Connection in Strata Cloud Manager with error:
Error - Can't Delete Objects in Use
A rule or another object is referencing <service_connection_name>. You can't delete objects that are in use. To delete an object, first remove it from the rules or other objects that are referencing it.
Detail error(s):
   plugins -> cloud_services -> pbf-target -> group -> <pbf_rule_name> -> target


Environment


  • Strata Cloud Manager (SCM)
  • Prisma Access (Cloud Managed)


Cause


A Policy Based Forwarding (PBF) target group exists which references the Service Connection (SC)

Resolution


  1. In Strata Could Manager (SCM) navigate to: Workflows -> Prisma Access Setup -> Service Connections
  2. Click Advanced Settings
  3. Under Traffic Steering -> Traffic Forwarding Rules click Add Rule
  4. Under Action -> Target Service Connection Group click Manage
  5. Under Items find the lines that reference the Service Connection you are trying to delete and either:
    1. Select the line and click Delete
      1. Click Yes to confirm the deletion
    2. Click the Connection Name
      1. Under Service Connections select the line showing the Service Connection you are trying to delete and click the minus box [-]
      2. Click Save
  6. Navigate back out to the Service Connections Setup and proceed to delete the Service Connection.
