Symptom

High Availability not working

Error code MismatchingResourceName on Azure logs

Message:
The provided resource name 'xxxxxxx-xxxxxxx-eth0' did not match the name in the Url 'xxxxxxx-xxxxxxx-eth2

Environment

PA-VM Azure Cloud

Cause

In Azure environment we can see the interfaces are assigned and listed in the incorrect order.

For example:  ethernet1/3, ethernet1/2, and then ethernet1/1

Resolution

  1.  Power down the FW.
  2.  Detach the interfaces on Azure.
  3. Powered on again and verified all the interfaces references were removed.
  4. Power down, attach the interfaces again and Power up again.
  5.  After that we should see everything was fine with the HA interfaces and the Azure will not show the error again.
