Symptom
- Cloud Services plugin gets downgraded from version 3.1 to an older version (i.e. 3.0 or 2.2).
- Commit fails with error message "region-tag unexpected here"
Environment
- Panorama
- PAN-OS 10.0 or higher
- Cloud Services plugin 3.1, downgraded to earlier version (i.e. 3.0)
Cause
- Starting with Cloud Services plugin version 3.1, Cloud Provider Redundancy feature is introduced.
- Due to this change, plugin adds a "region-tag" with either PA-G (GCP) or PA-A (AWS) as an argument to every service connection onboarding config.
- When plugin gets downgraded to an earlier version, this "region-tag" config does not get removed.
- Since "region-tag" is only supported by plugin version 3.1 or later, after plugin downgrade commit fails with error "region-tag unexpected here".
Resolution
Revert to running (working) configuration. This can be done by following these steps:
- Navigate to Panorama tab
- Click on Setup
- Click on Operations tab
- Click on Revert to running Panorama configuration
- The second way to revert is to click on Revert Changes in the upper right corner:
