Symptom

Panorama pre-defined Threat, Traffic and URL reports empty after upgrade from 9.1.X to 10.1.X

Environment

  • Panorama
  • PAN-OS 9.1.x and 10.1.X
  • Predefined Reports

Cause

  • The default behavior changed after the upgrade from Panorama in 9.1.X to Panorama 10.1.X.
  • In PAN-OS 9.1.X the knob "Use Panorama Data for Pre-Defined Reports" is unchecked by default so Panorama requests the reports to be sent from all managed Firewalls.
  • In PAN-OS 10.1.X the default behavior changed and the knob is checked by default.
  • With the knob checked, the Panorama creates the predefined reports from the Panorama Data. If logs from Firewalls are not forwarded to Panorama, no pre-defined reports will be created.

Resolution

  1. Go to GUI: Panorama > Setup > Management > Logging and Reporting Settings > Log Export and Reporting
  2. Uncheck the knob "Panorama Data for Pre-Defined Reports"
  3. Commit the configuration.
  4. This will cause Panorama to request the reports to be sent from the Firewalls again.
