Clientless VPN Application Does Not Work When Configured in Mutli-Vsys Mode

Symptom


A Clientless VPN application does not work when the device is in Multi-Vsys mode.

In the browser, the connection may keep "loading" indefinitely, or time out.

Environment


  • Clientless VPN
  • Multi-VSYS mode
  • All Mutli-VSYS capable PAN-OS Devices

Cause


This can occur if the Clientless application resides in a different VSYS to the ingress interface, such as in the below diagram.

Mutli-Vsys mode is currently not supported by PAN-OS for Clientless VPN.

Resolution


It is recommended to keep the Clientless Applications within the same VSYS and not configure them in Multi-VSYS.
