GlobalProtect App split tunnel feature does not work properly for some applications (Zoom, Slack, and etc) when "Dell Optimizer" is enabled.

Symptom
- GlobalProtect App supports split tunnel feature which exclude specific Domains & Applications traffic being sent over the VPN tunnel.
- You can configure the feature for video applications based on the description of the following KB article.
- But, the split tunnel feature does not work properly for those applications when "Dell Optimizer" is enabled.
- Even though those applications' traffic should be excluded from the GlobalProtect VPN tunnel, it may not be excluded.
Environment
- GlobalProtect App (version 5.1, 5.2, 6.0)
- Split tunnel setting for some applications
- Zoom, Slack, Video applications
- Microsoft Windows10, 11
- Dell PC, Dell Optimizer
Cause
- "Dell Optimizer" conflicts with GlobalProtect App split tunnel feature.
Resolution
- Disable Dell Optimizer.
- Currently, the GlobalProtect split tunnel feature cannot work with "Dell Optimizer".
Additional Information
- Third party software ExpressConnect Drivers & Services running on the Dell laptops interfere with GlobalProtect Split tunnel
- For other third party applications having similar issues, whitelist GP processes as discussed in Globaptorect Processes To Be Whitelisted on EDR Deployments.
