Environment

  • Palo Alto 5200 and 7000 Series Firewalls
  • PAN-OS 10.1.4 or later
  • AutoCommit

Cause

  • In 10.1.4 and later, the logging disks need to be ready before autocommit succeeds
  • One can verify if the raid disks are ready by using "show system raid detail" command.
show system raid detail

Resolution

  1. Autocommit will keep failing as expected unless all of the logging disks are ready.
  2. Expected to take 60 - 180 minutes rebuilding the disk based on the logging size itself.
  3. As soon as the minimum disk quota size is available the auto-commit will work fine.
