Symptom

When GlobalProtect App on Windows is upgraded to version 5.2.5 or later, it fails to connect to GlobalProtect Portal/Gateway via proxy with user authentication.
The credential pop-up window of proxy does not appear after this upgrading.
Below the version 5.2.4, the credential pop-up window of proxy is displayed.

Environment

  • GlobalProtect App version 5.2.5 ~ latest, 6.0.x, and 6.1.0
  • Microsoft Windows 10
  • Web Proxy authentication

Cause

This issue happens in GlobalProtect App version 5.2.5 or later. The root cause is broken PanGPA.exe by GPC-11557.
Without proxy, or with no user authentication proxy, the GlobalProtect connection to Gateway/Portal succeeds.

Resolution

GPC-15534 will be fixed in GPapp 6.1.1.
The credential pop-up window of proxy authentication appear in GlobalProtect App version 5.2.4 or below. Please use GlobalProtect App 5.2.4 until the fixed version is released, if you would like to use proxy authentication.
