Objective
How to transfer Defective ION license to the replacement ION after an RMA on Customer Support Portal (CSP)?
Environment
- Prisma SDWAN
- Customer Support Portal (CSP)
Procedure
- Login to Customer Support Portal.
- Click on Products > ION > Search Serial number
- Once the serial number is found press the button on the left with the Serial
- You should see a new pop-up window like below with the information about the old device. Press on the License Transfer tab
- You should get a New Popup window with the existing Serial number and a selection of new Serial numbers that you want to transfer the License to.
- Once you press “Transfer” you should see the New Serial number with the updated license information in CSP within a few minutes:
Additional Information
NOTE: The defective ION stays in the Portal until PANW receives the product after 30 days when the RMA is completed. Hence, the transfer should be done soon after the RMA to avoid future problems.
If the option to transfer the is missing from CSP, open a case with IAD to transfer the license from the defective to the replacement.
