XML API error code=17 "ping not available to xmlapi client"

Symptom
After using the XML API request to send a ping command to the firewall, the XML response is an error

- All PAN-OS Versions
Cause
It is an expected error. It is not possible to send the ping command using XML API.
The ping command is not available via API on the Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
