PAN-OS IoT SNMP network discovery service route does not work
Symptom
• The test connection for IoT SNMP Network Discovery failed when setting SNMP network discovery service route
• No packets are being sent from the interface defined in the service route, but sent from management interface.
• You can check it by getting pcaps on both dataplane interface and management interface.
Environment
**Product_versions**
• PAN-OS: 11.1.x
• network_discovery: 2.1.0
Cause
The root cause of the issue lies in the bug of the network_discovery-2.1.x.
Resolution
network_discovery plugin 2.2.0 will fix the symptom.
Additional Information
A workaround is to switch to the network discovery plugin version 2.0.2, which effectively implements the service route functionality as expected. However, it lacks the "test connection" feature, requiring manual verification of the route setup by clicking "Start Job".
Or, using management interface works as a workaround too.
