How to get GlobalProtect logs when GUI is not available

Symptom


To collect the Global Protect log files when GUI of GlobalProtect App is not working.



Environment


  • GlobalProtect (GP) App on Windows
  • GlobalProtect (GP) App on macOS
  • Supported GP App versions


Resolution


To get the logs when the GUI is not available (Windows):

  1. Go to C:\Program Files\Palo Alto Networks\GlobalProtect and double click on PanGPSupport.exe.
  2. Choose the location to save the logs and click "OK".
  3. The files will zipped and folder as "GlobalProtectLogs_<name>".

    To get the logs when the GUI is not available (MAC)

    1. Go to Applications and right click on GlobalProtect.app.
    2. Click on "Show Package Contents".
    3. Navigate to Contents>Resources and double click on gp_support.sh.

    The logs will be kept on Library/Logs/PaloAltoNetworks/GlobalProtect.
