Symptom


  • CLI command "show log system" display "Could not resolve host: serverlist.urlcloud.paloaltonetworks.com"
CURL ERROR: Could not resolve host: serverlist.urlcloud.paloaltonetworks.com
  • Other sites connect fine. For example, one can see the following logs around the time when above error was recorded.
Connection to Update server: updates.paloaltonetworks.com completed successfully, initiated by X.X.X.X

 

Environment


  • Palo Alto Firewalls
  • PAN-OS 10.1.0 - 10.1.8
  • PAN-OS 10.2.0 - 10.2.2

Cause


Software Issue.

Resolution


  1. The issue is resolved under PAN-193818 ​​​​​​.
  2. Software versions  10.1.9 and 10.2.3  have the fix.
  3. Upgrade to the fixed versions will resolve the issue.
  4. As a temporary workaround device server can be restarted using 
    > debug software restart process device-server
