Objective
How to prefer one of the routes among OSPF same cost routes learnt on different links/interface on Palo Alto networks firewall.
Environment
Networks where OSPF is used for dynamic routing and same cost routes are learnt on different links/interface on Palo Alto networks firewall.
For example ae1.1110 and tunnel.1000 belong to area 0 and receive same routes. The preferred route should be over ae1.1110 but route table shows route through tunnel.1000 as active.
Procedure
In such cases, interface with lower sub interface id or logical unit is chosen as active. As a fix, change the tunnel sub interface id to make the interface as tunnel.1111 and route through ae1.1110 will become active.
