Interfaces are not coming up on PA-5450 after restart

Symptom


  • PA-5450 Chassis restart on a High Availability (HA) Setup.
  • HA Passive device is coming up as "non-functional"  instead of "Passive"

Environment


  • Palo Alto PA-5450
  • PAN-OS 10.1.x, 10.2.x
  • High Availability (HA)

Cause


Software Issue.

Resolution


Resolution:
  1. The issue is fixed under PAN-196445 in PAN-OS 10.1.7 and 10.2.3.
  2. Upgrade to the above versions or later will fix the issue
Workaround:
One of the following workaround will resolve the issue
  1. Run the following command from CLI.
>request high-availability state functional 
  1. Perform a "Commit"
