Question

  • When pre-logon is enabled, the gateway connection status of the GlobalProtect App is displayed on a Microsoft Windows lock screen.
  • What messages are displayed on the lock screen in those statuses?

Environment

  • GlobalProtect App
  • Pre-logon
  • Microsoft Windows lock screen

Answer

The displayed messages are different depending on whether GlobalProtectApp connects to External Gateway or Internal Gateway.

From GlobalProtect App version 6.0.7, the Internal Gateway status messages were updated for user convenience.
As a result, those statuses are displayed as follows.

  1. External Gateway
    • GlobalProtect Status: Connected Gateway : x.x.x.x
    • GlobalProtect Status: Disconnected
  2. Internal Gateway from ver 6.0.7
    • GlobalProtect Status: Internal Gateway (Connected)
    • GlobalProtect Status: Internal Gateway (Disconnected)
  3. Internal Gateway before ver 6.0.7
    • GlobalProtect Status: Internal
