Question

Can Defender be embedded in AWS EKS Fargate workloads?

Environment

  • Prisma Cloud Compute - Self_hosted
  • AWS Fargate
  • AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS)
  • App-Embedded Defender

Answer

Yes, there is a way you can make the Defender deployment work for EKS on Fargate deployment.
  • The correct way to do that would be by the use of App-Embedded Defenders
  • To secure a container, you can embed the App-Embedded Defender into it
  • You can embed App-Embedded Defenders with the Console UI, twistcli, or Prisma Cloud API. App-Embedded Defender has been tested on Azure Container Instances, Google Cloud Run, and Fargate on EKS

Additional Information

The App-Embedded Defenders are slightly different from App-Embedded Defenders for Fargate  such that the deployment of EKS on a Fargate instance scenario is not supported in the latter.
