What happens to the PAN-OS version running on the firewall after installing another version without rebooting?
Environment
- Palo Alto Firewalls

- A firewall reboot is required after a PAN-OS upgrade or downgrade.
- If you choose not to reboot immediately after the installation, the installed PAN-OS stays in the memory,
- It does not take effect without a reboot.
- If another PAN-OS version is installed before the reboot, it overrides the previously installed version that is pending in the memory.
- Now the newly installed The PAN-OS version will be loaded when the firewall is rebooted.
