Symptom


On PA-3400 and PA-5400 series, the list of interfaces available for HA1 and HA1-backup link configuration would only show the dedicated HA interfaces not the management interface

Environment


  • Palo Alto 3400 and 5400 series Firewalls
  • Supported PAN-OS
  • HA (High Availability) Ports

Cause


Management port cannot be used as HA port.

Resolution


  1. Use existing dedicated HA Ports. OR 
  2. Set up dataplane ports for configuring as HA1 and HA1-backup interfaces.
