Symptom


VM series firewall unable to boot up with below error messages shown shown on console.

  • Critical error
  • Entry Reason: VM resource failure

Environment


  • Palo Alto VM series firewalls
  • Supported PAN-OS versions

Cause


Insufficient vcpu cores and memory assigned to VM

Resolution


  1. Assign required minimum vcpu cores and memory to vm series firewall VM.
  2. Use the VM Series System Requirements as a guideline.
