Symptom
- CSP shows there is available credits
- Administrators face the following message when they fail to activate PA-VM device with Auth Code of the Deployment Profile.
Failed to install licenses. Deployment profile input does not have enough credits available to support this request.
Environment
- PA-VM
- Deployment Profile for Software NFGW Credits
Cause
This message appears when the available vCPU count in Deployment Profile is less than the required number of vCPU cores in PA-VM.
On the activation of PA-VM with Deployment Profile of Software NGFW Credits, it is required the total number of vCPU cores in PA-VM is equal to or less than the available vCPU count in the corresponding Deployment Profile.
The total number of vCPU cores in PA-VM can be confirmed by following CLI commands.
(Available commands or the output would be slightly different by the installed VM-Series Plugin)
> show plugins vm_series cores Total cores: 4 > show plugins vm_series dp-cores Current DP cores: 2 configured custom DP cores: None (Current total cores: 4)
Resolution
Set the amount of vCPUs for the amount of credits available.
Additional Information
In VM-Series Plugin 2.1.4 and later, you can now specify the number of vCPUs that are licensed when using Software NGFW credits instead of licensing all the vCPUs available on your chosen compute instance.
The detailed information is introduced in the following Release Notes article.
