Captive Portal for hosts with dual stack (IPv4 & IPv6) not working

Symptom


Captive Portal is using dual-stack IPs. It occurs when the host prefers an ipv4 or ipv6 to open the captive portal.
The user gets redirected to the captive portal page but the captive portal page is not loaded.
 

Environment


  • All Pan-OS
  • Captive Portal
  • Dual-Stack IP addresses
  • Redirect Mode

Cause


Captive Portal is configured with Redirect Mode. 

Resolution


The workaround is to use Captive Portal in transparent mode. 
There is a feature request for the redirect mode in dual-stack for the captive portal.
