Objective
This article shows how to resolve the certificate warning "NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID" after configuring secure web-GUI access
Environment
- Any PAN-OS version
- Panorama appliance
Procedure
- Regenerate the server certificate and specify the IP attribute value to match the Common Name in the certificate.
- If the Common Name is set to FQDN, the IP attribute should match the IP address resolved by the FQDN.
Note: if you are using an externally signed certificate, ensure that the IP attribute is set while generating the certificate before importing it into the firewall.
