HIP Notifications Host Information no visible on panorama, but you can see them in the managed firewall.

Symptom


  • Unable to see a HIP notification under host information in the panorama.
  • HIP object location child device group.
  • HIP profile location child device group.
  • HIP notification under host information in the managed firewall is present.


Environment


  • Any Panorama
  • PAN-OS 8.1 and above
  • HIP notification.
  • HIP profiles.
  • HIP objects.


Cause


Changing Hip profiles or Hip objects from a shared location to a specific device-group location makes them accessible to the specific device group to which it is added. Only shared objects are accessible across device group objects and templates.

Resolution


  1. On Panorama Click on GUI: Objects  > GlobalProtect > Hip Profiles and Hip Objects.

  1. Select the Device Group.

  1. Select the Hip profile or Hip object.
  2. Click Move button
  3. Select the Shared location

  1. Click "OK" and commit the configuration.
Note: Changing the HIP Objects/Profile location from a specific Device Group to shared, will causes the objects to be accessible to all Device Groups. If this is not intended, then do not move them.
