This article explains how to access the firewall after enabling FIPS-CC mode for the first time.

Procedure

Follow the steps below to access the firewall using SSH/GUI
  1. Establish connectivity with the Palo Alto Networks Firewall by connecting an Ethernet cable between the Management interface and the laptop's Ethernet interface
  2. Configure the laptop Ethernet interface with an IP address within the 192.168.1.0/24 network. By default, the Palo Alto Networks Firewall IP is set to 192.168.1.1
  3. To access from the browser, open a web browser and navigate to the URL https://192.168.1.1. At this point, the Palo Alto Networks Firewall login page appears
  4. To access via SSH, navigate to the terminal app and log in using the IP 192.168.1.1 on port 22
  5. Now change the management IP address of the firewall from any of the sessions to match your internal network.
