Objective


This article describes enable PoE over new device starting PAN-OS 11.0

Environment


  • Palo Alto Firewalls PA-1420, PA-1410, PA-445, and PA-415
  • PAN-OS 11.0 and above
  • POE (Power over Ethernet)


Procedure


  1. Power over Ethernet (PoE) enables you to transfer electrical power from a supported firewall to a powered device.
  2. Using interfaces that have been configured for PoE, you can allocate power to multiple powered devices while still maintaining data transfer over an Ethernet connection.
  3. This feature support is now also extended to PA-1420, PA-1410, PA-445, and PA-415 next generation firewall(NGFW) starting PAN-OS 11.0
  4. To configure PoE, Follow the steps documented under Configure POE.
