Symptom


  • PA-3400 series is unable to handle GRE packets for Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) connections.
  • GRE packet is not recorded in packet capture and "show counter global" CLI command.

Environment


  • PA-Series Next-Generation Firewall
  • PAN-OS 10.2 or later
  • PA-3400 series
  • GRE Tunnel

Cause


Software Issue

Resolution


  1. The issue is fixed under PAN-209172 in PAN-OS 10.2.5.
  2. Upgrade to PAN-OS 10.2.5 or higher will fix the issue.
