How to Move a Grayed out Object from one Tenant Service Group (TSG) to another

Objective


  • To migrate an asset from one AIOPs TSG instance to another.
  • There are a couple of use cases in which one may  want to shift assets from one TSG to another.
    • Use Case 1: Shifting assets to another AIOPs instance that has its own associated Cortex Data Lake (CDL)
    • Use Case 2: Shifting assets to another CDL instance that is associated with another TSG


Environment


  • HUB
  • Cortex Data Lake (CDL)
  • AIOPS
  • Tenant Service Group (TSG)


Procedure


Login to the HUB site and remove associations from AIOPs and CDL.
  1. AIOPs association removal: Click Common Services > Device Associations > Filter for the Asset > Select > Remove Associations

  1. CDL Association Removal: Click Cortex Data Lake > Device Associations > Filter for the Asset > Select > Remove Associations

Note: if you don’t know which CDL your asset is associated with just hover over the grayed-out asset for 2-3 seconds and the CDL id should appear.

  1. AIOPs Association Add:
  • After ~3-5 minutes you should be able to add your device.
  • Click Common Services > Device Associations > Add Device > Select Device > Save
